'Libraries put Bible on top shelf in a sop to Muslims'

 The Daily Mail features this story on Qur’ans and Bibles kept in public libraries and new guidance on where these should be shelved.

The story begins, ‘Librarians are being told to move the Bible to the top shelf to avoid giving offence to followers of Islam’.

Except, the story is not about ‘giving offence to Muslims’ at all but about some Muslim requests to have Qur’ans placed on higher shelves in public libraries. Having devoted much newsprint to stories on the latest thing that offends Muslims, it is no surprise that the Daily Mail should continue to feed this genre with suitable nonsense.

I expect a proportionate response would be for Muslims to simply stand on yesterday's copy of the Mail, hmm? LOL! Giving a new meaning to voting with one's feet? Yet more grist for the mill of dumbing down the actual debate, pandering instead to blind prejudice - this is hardly the modus operandi of any form of free press in a modern, enlightened society!
