Daily Express echoes BNP's anti-Muslim propaganda

Islamophobia Watch usefully elaborates on the commonality of noxious ideas on ‘Muslim colonisation’ in the harangues of the English Defence League and BNP in an article 'Who incites hatred against Muslims in Manchester?'

Though EDL are adamant that they are not linked to the BNP, a video posted on Paul Ray’s Lionheart blog, calling for people to support the EDL demo in Manchester, echoes the sort of ‘Muslim takeover of Christian Britain’, that is standard fare for the BNP. Many of the images used on the BNP’s ‘Genocide: how Islamic colonisation destroys your heritage’ also appear on the ‘Defending our Christian heritage and birthright’ video.

But the use of such incendiary ideas and language is not limited to the far right. In his Daily Express column yesterday Leo McKinstry (pictured) wrote:

As EU President, Blair will revel in the chance to complete the destruction of Britain’s traditional national identity, the project he began in 1997. ...[Blair] used mass immigration, European integration and the dogma of multiculturalism as battering rams against our heritage.

‘Through his new office, Blair will continue where he left off in 2007. There will more destruction of our borders and more propaganda for diversity. The Islamification of Europe will accelerate as Blair pushes through the acceptance of Turkey into the EU, long one of his pet projects
.’

McKinstry’s use of the phrase ‘Islamification’ and the suggestion that it will accelerate with Turkey’s entry into the EU is barely distinguishable from the contents of a BNP leaflet that was issued prior to the European elections this year telling voters, 'The plan by the professional politicians to give Turkey’s 80 million low-wage Muslims the automatic right to enter Britain would mean...Even stronger pressure to Islamicise Britain, undermining our democracy and Christian traditions.'

Following the BNP’s European election victories the Daily Express political editor, Macer Hall, wrote:

For many years the Daily Express has told the truth about the BNP and exposed the reality behind the sharp suits and the snappy slogans. On the eve of the Euro poll, we made clear to our readers: ‘A single vote for the BNP will be one too many’.

Which all sounds just a tad hypocritical when you consider McKinstry’s column in yesterday’s paper, doesn't it?

Have Muslims come into a Christian Country and are they expecting it to change its Christian heritage for a Muslim one?
I thought I did read that a huge percentage of Muslims said they wanted Sharia Law for Britain. Was I mistaken?

How does the express get away with it?
It is a recruitment tool for the BNP and EDL,along with the Daily Star their publication of choice no doubt.

The EDL are scum, rascist thugs who just want to belong to a cause and have found a community in the anti islamic hymn sheet orchestrated by the media.
