Sunday Express apologises to the East London Mosque

 The Sunday Express yesterday published an apology to the East London Mosque for an article published in December linking the ELM to Anwar Al-Awlaki and referring to the mosque as ‘radical’.

The ELM was wrongly criticised by newspapers following the failed bomb attempt by Omar Farouk Abdulmuttalab on Christmas Day last year on account of Abdulmuttalab having visited the mosque on three occasions.

The Express apology reads:

'Our article of December 27, 2009 “Jet bomb ordered by 9/11 spiritual leader” stated that Anwar al Awlaki, the Yemen based cleric said to have inspired the failed plot to blow up a plane bound for Detroit, had spoken at the “radical” East London Mosque (ELM).

'We would like to make clear that ELM works tirelessly to promote religious and  social tolerance and to oppose violent extremism in all its forms. ELM tells  us that it was not aware of any credible allegation of violent extremism  against Anwar al Awlaki prior to the single occasion on which he spoke at the  London Muslim Centre (LMC) at an event organised by an external organisation.  ELM does not promote or support Anwar al Awlaki. ELM would not now permit  Anwar al Awlaki to speak at ELM or the  LMC.'

Well done ELM/LMC for taking the Daily Express to task and securing a printed apology.

Well that is what you get in a civilised society where the freedom to spread libellous hatred is restricted by the power of bodies like the Press Complaints Commission, with the backing of the Law.

Who exactly, try comparing & contrasting who exactly makes, sells & uses these weapons the most, instead of blindly regurgitating virtual-reality opinions, which are not based on facts. Ever heard of the Military-industrial Complex?

Read the O.E.D. definition & apply it to all sides without fear or favour. Why exclude state terrorism, something to blank out? The FBI & Europol reports also expose the "Alice in Wonderland fantasy" of Muslim-dominated "terrorism" in both these regions.
