Ofcom to investigate Gilligan's C4 Dispatches programme about IFE

Ofcom has launched an investigation into the Dispatches programme ‘Britain’s Islamic Republic’, after the show attracted more than 1000 complaints.
The programme, presented by Andrew Gilligan (pictured), ‘attracted 817 direct complaints to C4, topping its list of criticised shows in March.

‘A comment that C4 singled out as typical of the complaints accused the programme of levelling “wholly inaccurate and defamatory accusations” against the Islamic Forum of Europe.

‘Ofcom confirmed that it has received a further 206 complaints and is now investigating whether the undercover investigation breached its code of conduct in terms of fairness and accuracy.’
