Damian Thompson tackles anti-semitism. But will he go further?

Damian Thompson (pictured), editor of Daily Telegraph Blogs and author of the Holy Smoke blog, has come up with a commendable initiative to counter offensive anti-Semitic comments made on his blog posts.

Thompson says, ‘For every anti-Semitic comment that appears on this blog, I will make a small donation to a Jewish charity.’

It’s certainly a generous, well-meaning gesture. A question for Thompson from Muslims familiar with his Islamophobic blog posts and the xenophobic, anti-Muslim comments that they often attract: will he, for reasons of parity and fairness, make a small donation to a deserving charity for every blog entry he makes that is Islamophobic and every comment that follows in similar vein?

Now that would be commendable indeed.

I've monitored every piece in which he's ever mentioned Islam or Muslims on the Telegraph blogs, never once have he said anything positive.

His remarks are always spiteful, horrid and filed with odious remarks. It is quite clear to me that he's a racist but he maintains a very tight line in his comments.

He's careful never to openly say he hates Islam but it's quite apparent he does.
