Right-Wing Tabloids on 'Muslims Grooming White Girls' for Sex Trade

The Daily Mail and Daily Express both reported this week on a supposed ‘culture of silence’ surrounding incidents of rape and the grooming of young girls for sexual exploitation in which Asian men are involved for fears of inflaming ethnic tensions.

The articles stem from research carried out by University College London's Jill Dando Institute of Security and Crime Science and published in The Times as part of an investigation on grooming and internal trafficking of girls in the northern England.

The DM article states:

“Police and social services have been accused of fuelling a culture of silence which has allowed hundreds of young white girls to be exploited by Asian men for sex.

“Agencies have identified a long-term pattern of offending by gangs of men, predominantly from the British Pakistani community, who have befriended and abused hundreds of vulnerable girls aged 11 to 16.

“Experts claim the statistics represent a mere fraction of a 'tidal wave' of offending in counties across the Midlands and the north of England which has been going on for more than a decade.

“A senior officer at West Mercia police has called for an end to the 'damaging taboo' connecting on-street grooming with race.

“Detective Chief Inspector Alan Edwards said: ‘These girls are being passed around and used as meat.

“‘To stop this type of crime you need to start everyone talking about it but everyone's been too scared to address the ethnicity factor.

“’No one wants to stand up and say that Pakistani guys in some parts of the country are recruiting young white girls and passing them around their relatives for sex, but we need to stop being worried about the racial complication.’

“In a briefing paper, researchers at University College London's Jill Dando Institute of Security and Crime Science concurred that victims were typically white girls while ‘most central offenders are Pakistani’.”

“…researchers identified 17 court prosecutions since 1997, 14 of them in the past three years, involving the on-street grooming of girls aged 11 to 16 by groups of men.”

“In total, 56 people, with an average age of 28, were found guilty of crimes including rape, child abduction, indecent assault and sex with a child.”

“Three of the 56 were white, 53 were Asian. Of those, 50 were Muslim and a majority were members of the British Pakistani community.”

Prosecuting individuals accused of involvement in rape, child sex and sexual exploitation of young women should be enforced on anyone who commits these criminal offences whatever their ethnic origins, religion or any other set of identifiers. To prosecute someone for committing such crimes is not racist. Implying that minorities are somehow more susceptible to committing these crimes than white Brits because of their ethnicity or religion, however, is racist

The ‘culture of silence’ that DCI Edwards ‘warned’ of over alleged fears of igniting ethnic tensions is important since the matter in question is not one of cultural sensitivity but of apprehending individuals accused of committing crimes, prosecuting them under the law. Indeed, the Quran itself enjoins the upholding of justice at all costs.

“O you who have attained to faith! Be ever steadfast in upholding equity, bearing witness to the truth for the sake of God, even though it be against your own selves or your parents and kinsfolk. Whether the person concerned be rich or poor, God's claim takes precedence over [the claims of] either of them. Do not, then, follow your own desires, lest you swerve from justice: for if you distort [the truth], behold, God is indeed aware of all that you do!” (Quran, Sûrah al-Nisâ’, verse 135)

That the ‘findings’ represented a ‘fraction of a tidal wave’ of offending across northern England and the Midlands was today disputed by the authors of the study itself. The authors, Helen Brayley and Ella Cockbain, in an article in today’s Guardian express surprise that their research, “confined to two police operations in the north and Midlands…had been cited in support of claims that such offences were widespread.”  They also challenged the claims that only white girls were being targeted.

“Brayley and Cockbaine, whose six-month study was cited as evidence, said they were worried that limited data had been extended ‘to characterise an entire crime type, in particular of race and gender’. They challenged claims that white girls were deliberately sought out by offenders. ‘Though the majority … were white so too were the majority of local inhabitants.’ Comparing the percentage of white people in the areas with black and ethnic minorities, their data, they said, showed ‘black and ethnic minority girls over-represented among the victims’.”

The misrepresentation of the study and the irresponsible sort of reporting from the DM and the DE, characterising the crimes by race and gender, is all too apparent in the use made of it by the EDL, the BNP and various right wing blogs which have picked up the Muslim identity of some of the men, as reported by the DE and DM.

The BNP, which will be campaigning in the upcoming Oldham by-election after the removal of Phil Woolas, has said that it will hold a “demonstration against Muslim paedophile grooming gangs in Oldham” and will launch a “special leaflet on the topic.”

Which makes something of a mockery of the DE political editor, Macer Hall’s claims last year that the paper "...will relentlessly expose the arguments of the BNP for the spiteful nonsense that they are."

And how, pray, does the DE hope to expose such arguments for the spiteful nonsense that they are when it is the source of them?

ANY body who belives they can treat a young vunerable child as a personal pleasure should be hanged. If 1 pakistani or 1 sikh or hindhu is envolved in this activity then its too many. Can't you understand this !! The world can only improve if you..YOU decide to accept this is wrong and make sure it does not happen weather you are a muslim, sikh, christian or atheist !!!

[]]"This kind of sexual anxiety among these rapidly assimilating communities highlights a visceral paranoia through the construction of the Muslim folk-devil figure. Similar folk-devil characters have been constructed around Jews & Blacks"
So all the women that were taken as slaves that converted to islam..were promicicuos party animals. As written earlier you are told to do this by your scholars as way to break down societies. A man not long back quoted the Koran and was arrested for stirring up religous hatred. I think he was acquitted.
In some of the cases the girls were saying that they thought these were their boyfriends. A lot of these young girls are looking for partners as is normal for young girls in the western countries. So the Muslim men grooming white girls is going to happen because they see them as future partners. Muslim girls are usually already betrothed to a member of the immediate family at a young age.
So the disrespect shown to the britons is unjustified.
From iftikhar
Most teenage girls, but especially the girls who hang around the streets have no roots, low self esteem etc and so are easy prey for any group - any group - who cares to seduce them. I once asked a young woman why she loved to go out and partying and getting drunk she told me well..unlike you where someone will arrange a marriage for you..i am not going to be meet anyone sat at home.
So unfortunately until the west have a prophet that says you can marry any member of your family except your sister or mother.. then the country will carry on as is. The only way to stop this is as written earlier to make the punishment so severe that harrasment and intimidation of young females by anyone who thinks they can be targeted because they have a different way of life or belief..and trying to justify this in the teachings that all women that are non muslim are easy prey. The law should be across the board for any culture or religion.

0 #7 Hindu/Sikh Sexual anxiety & mythsMuslim 2011-01-14 20:28
The FACTS do not bear out the creation of the so-called "Love Jihad" in the UK.

The Police here in Britain were contacted by the more hysterical among the Hindu-Sikh communities.
The most extreme myth is that Muslims are apparently being paid £10,000 for each conversion. No real evidence has ever come to light.

The rather more prosaic reality is more probably that many of these "liberated" girls at University (mostly Sikh, then Hindu & occasionally Muslims) do become promiscuous party animals & meet nominally Muslim males. Sometimes these naturally do develop into consensual relationships. The shared Punjabi language & ethnicity is the biggest factor. The honour & shame Asian culture comes back into play as brothers, family & friends reject Western veneer. The myth of passive females being victims of predators is just that. Conversion comes into play when the relationship gets serious. The flow is a 2 way process, though more become Muslims tan the other way around.

This kind of sexual anxiety among these rapidly assimilating communities highlights a visceral paranoia through the construction of the Muslim folk-devil figure. Similar folk-devil characters have been constructed around Jews & Blacks.

Anecdotal hysteria & urban myths
must be balanced against the facts of police investigations.

Well, it must be something new for you, I guess. Please understand that this form of attack unleashed by a few perverted minds cannot be termed as 'grooming for sex' or pedophilia because there is an organized group behind such acts. In India, this was practised against Hindu girls by Muslim men. Media termed the acts as "LOVE JIHAAD'. Girls were lured and then ravaged by members of fanatic groups. Please do not blame all Asians for this heinous acts coz Sikh and Hindu girls in UK were also targeted by this Jihadis. Dont worrry. You will get used to these things. We have been going through all these for ages. Learn from your past mistakes, dear Britons.

0 #4 Grooming of GirlsJon 2011-01-09 15:23
Hi, I live in Leeds and was born in England, I am indian by heritage and would like to say on a unbiased basis that Jack Straws comments are correct. For the past 30 years we have seen this kind of actions against non muslim girls. They are targeted because of the muslim religion which believes that they are Kaffers. This is a belief that is passed down through their cultural upbringing. We all know that some muslims believe that girls once they get to puberty are old enough to have sex...so what difference does a law in England make that they don't even recognise. We as indians know first hand of the grooming process where girls were picked up outside schools in the 80's and 90's and when reporting to the police no actions were taken. You have to understand the language and be in the midst of the muslim culture to hear the comments made about white women and girls that are non muslim. Everytime i have heard this they are referred as "whores and kaffers" This type upbringing from the elders around them have given them the green light to exploit and commit these crimes. As an indian we are taught from a young age that every girl is someones daughter and sister so you treat them with the same respect irrevelant of religion or colour. The muslim community will come out and shout it from the rooftops of the injustice of these remarks and that it is not a religious trait. Well unfortunately it is..the actions years ago of some mosque leaders in passing out instructions on how to groom indian girls was a big issue. The police know of what is happening but no one has to guts to show the figures of how much of this is taking place and most of the time the girls just don't come forward to report the crime as happened in the indian community..where the elders were too ashamed to bring it out in the open. i have been listening to the news today and every one has this question on " how shall we investigate or stop this type of thing happening." Ok well as man that has been brought up in the English community and have the utmost respect for the country that i live in. which has not only given a great life for my parents for 60 years but has enabled my children to have the best upbringing. where no one member of my family has ever been in trouble with the police. Let me suggest this. I understand if a man that is someone over the age of 18 approaches a girl under 16 (please tell me if i am wrong) This is classed as child molesting or grooming a child or sex with a minor. Well when this happens outside schools or community centres then the police should arrest the culprit before the crime has been commited. where they are offering cigarettes or drugs..this should be dealt a major criminal offence. You will unfortunately hear of racism from the police and discrimination but someone has to grab the bull by the horns. This has to be done to show all people in this country that this type of actions will not be tolerated so that young girls can at least grow up and not be exploited when they are naive and vulnerable. Finally let Jack Straw and the criminal justice system find the statistics where a muslim man has helped the police to convict another muslim. They will not do this as this is against their religion as well. So if a crime is commited and has been witnessed by the elders they will not let the police know. even if the crime is as serious as sex with a minor. The main essence is to break down societies by intimidating and harrasing girls which in the end are the future of any culture in the world. My comments are based on not only my knowledge of the muslim community but also the fact i have been seeing the way they operate for the past 40 years.

0 #3 Newsnight on street groomingJassem 2011-01-07 19:39
I am surprised that instead of discussing substance with genuine academics and researchers, Newsnight thought it necessary to detour the content with a perosn known to be controversial and polemic.

The right person with Helen Brayley could have been Ella Cockbain, from UCL's Jill Dando Institute of Security and Crime Science, whose six-month study has been cited as evidence, both said they were worried that "a limited data set has been over-extended to characterise an entire crime type, in particular of race and gender".

They also challenged claims that white girls were deliberately sought out by offenders. "Although the majority of victims were white, so too were the majority of local inhabitants," they told the Guardian."

Newsnight should also have discussed what could be done to address concern voiced by
Martin Narey, chief executive of Barnardos, who said though he was pleased to hear this child exploitation discussed but he was worried that "decent Pakistani men will now be looked at as potential child abusers".

Newsnight didn't allot enough time to Brayley and Cockbaine, who said they were worried that limited data had been extended "to characterise an entire crime type, in particular of race and gender". They challenged claims that white girls were deliberately sought out by offenders. "Though the majority … were white so too were the majority of local inhabitants." Comparing the percentage of white people in the areas with black and ethnic minorities, their data, they said, showed "black and ethnic minority girls over-represented among the victims".

They added: "This challenges the view that white girls are sought out by offenders, suggesting instead that convenience and accessibility may be the prime drivers for those looking for new victims."

Rather than pigeon holing a specific nich for all vices Newsnight should have cited that according to the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre, in 2009, the victims were mainly "white British in their mid and late teens" but also Bangladeshi and Afro-Caribbean. Networks of "white British, British Asians and Kurds had been "identified" as internal traffickers, with ethnic and national background varied "between groups" and geography.

But Newsnight preferred stirring sentiments instead of discussing substance.

0 #2 Sexual Grooming and Pakistani Youths Iftikhar Ahmad 2011-01-07 18:40
A major newspaper investigation linked some British Pakistani youths with the sexual exploitation of underage native girls in towns across North and Midland. Some of them are convicted of grooming underage native girls for sex because they think that these girls have fewer morals and are less valueable than Muslim girls.

Most teenage girls, but especially the girls who hang around the streets have no roots, low self esteem etc and so are easy prey for any group - any group - who cares to seduce them.

The native Brits have double standards and are hypocrites, they don't mention the fact that the majority of men who go to countries in East Asia looking for under aged sex are white Europeans men.

This is sickening. It's no wonder Great Britain is in such a bad shape. Ten years old British girls are haveing babies out of wedlock. They are not allowed to get married but are allowed to have babies.

Teenage pregnancy rate in Great Britain is the highest in western Europe. It is a civilised country and Yemen is a backward country because it allowes young girls to get married.

Indiscipline, incivility, binge drinking, drug addiction, gun and knife crimes, teenage pregnancies and abortion are part and parcel of British schooling. These are the reasons why Muslim children need state funded Muslim schools with Muslim teachers as role models during their developmental periods. There is no place for a non-Muslim child or a teacher in a Muslim school.

Pakistani youths are British born and educated in state schools with non-Muslim monolingual teachers. They have been mis-educated and de-educated and they do not know where they belong. They suffer from identity crises. Pakistani children suffer more than other Muslim children. They find themselves cut off from their cultural roots and are unable to enjoy the beauty of their literature and poetry. Thanks to the British education system. What do you expect from such individuals?

There are hundreds of state and church schools where Muslim children are in majority. In my opinion, all such schools may be opted out as Muslim Academies.

since there a series of convictions for this type of offence from 1997 to the present day in a dozen cities so its not spiteful nonsense but a real problem
Perhaps it stems from a primitive tribal attitude to women now hard wired into your deen?
